Maternity swimsuits are swimsuits which are special designed for women who are in pregnant. Pregnant women are suggested to do some exercise during their pregnancy.

Swimming is one of suggested exercise for pregnant women but before taking any exercise, please consult with your doctor first.

If you are choosing swimming as your exercise then one thing you should consider is your swimsuit. You can’t just wear your usual suit since your body alignment is changing especially your busts and your tummy which are growing.

At this time, you need special designed swimsuits–maternity swimsuits. Maternity swim suits are designed with looser tops and tummy to fit your growing busts and tummy.

Choosing maternity swimsuits are just like choosing your usual swimsuits. Get your maternity swimsuits’ size same as your usual swimsuits’ size. Generally maternity swim suits are sized as pre-pregnant size but looser at some parts, like busts, tummy, hips etc.

In your pregnancy, you can still have fashionable swimsuits. You can wear any type of swimsuits you like. You can wear your usual swimsuits in your first trimester but you should look for maternity swimsuits when you’re entering your second trimester since your busts and tummy is growing more. Bikini, halter top is still ok in your first trimester but bikini will show your tummy too much in your second and third trimester. Tankini will do a better job in hiding your growing tummy. Beware of too tight brief since your hips are growing as long with your tummy.

Your maternity swimsuits should not be too tight, give room for your growing body. If you’re in between size then get one size up. You should feel comfortable in your swimsuits before getting into the pool so you can enjoy your swimming without hesistant!
