A natural alternative Viagra. But who’s it for – him or her?
Viagra has been one of the great drug sensations of the past decade.
The drug is certainly addressing a big enough problem. It’s been reckoned that 25 million men in the USA suffer from some form of erectile dysfunction – and that’s just the ones who admit to it.
But Viagra isn’t exactly a problem-free drug (Over 300 deaths were associated with it within months of its introduction in 1998). It comes with a host of side effects. To make matters worse, it’s effective in only 57 per cent of cases; so nearly half of all men who take it run the risk of a serious side effect and without any positive outcome.
A new study offers fresh hope though. Researchers from California tried the drug with a herbal remedy called ArginMax, which is produced by GNC. A group of men with erectile dysfunction, who were mot helped by Viagra, were first given the drug for a month, with similar disappointing results. But when they took ArginMax with the drug, 60 per cent reported a great improvement.
And earlier studies of ArginMax found it was also effective without Viagra.
So what’s in ArginMax? It’s made up of ginkgo biloba, ginseng, and L-arginine, along with vitamins B6 and B12, plus antioxidants. All supplements that you can buy at your local health shop.
The key is nitric oxide, which is central to smooth muscle relaxation, vascular dilation, and the regulation of circulation. In short, all the things that add up to an erection.
Vital to nitric oxide is L-arginine, while ginkgo biloba can also help achieve micro-vascular circulation.
Interestingly, these supplements work just as well on women who have lost their sexual appetite.
